When we first established our alpaca herds our major goal was to create products from the alpaca fiber. Telespinn, a mini-mill inTelemark,Norwaycontacted us and were interested in helping us on our way. In fact, our alpaca fiber was the first alpaca fiber processed in their mill!
Alpaca fiber is one of the most exclusive in the world; its fineness is measured in microns. Other indications of quality are measured in brightness, luster, density, crimp and uniformity. The hair follicles are hollow which allow them to be light weight with exceptional insulating quality. Alpaca fiber is strong and has a wonderful handle allowing products to wear well.
Alpaca garments hold their shape and age gracefully. The amount of pilling is minimal. The garments do no itch; feel cool when it is warm and warm when cold. Alpaca fiber does not contain lanolin, giving sensitive skin an excellent alternative. The sorting of alpaca fiber was an honoured profession in the Inca culture and we at NA have similar strict sorting guidelines. Only the highest quality fibers, free for medulation are used in our garn and our breast warmers.
Surveys taken of our products have all given similar results; our products are softer and wear better than equivalent products purchased in shops. NA knows where our fiber originated and quality control every element of production, from shearing to sales. Therefore we are confident our product is better than most imported products on the market today.

Breast warmers/nursing pads.
One of our first alpaca creations are breast warmers, filted from the most exclusive alpaca fiber described as ‘royal baby alpaca’. They are soft and comfortable. The perfect product providing ultimate warmth and comfort for the new mother.
